DTS 4 Classification Guide
Thumbnail
An Ontylog terminology (referred to as a Namespace in DTS, and throughout this guide) is one developed using formal, structured Description Logic (DL) principles. Ontylog Namespaces can be created and maintained using Apelon’s Terminology Development Environment (TDE) suite of tools, or other compatible DL modeling applications. Ontylog Namespaces are distinguished by having a principled Concept hierarchy based on formal DL subsumption incorporating superconcepts (Parents) and subconcepts (Children). The DTS Editor supports viewing of the Concept hieracrchy for Ontylog Namespaces. It is also possible to view attribute details for any Concept in the Ontylog Namespace in a manner similar to that for non-Ontylog Namespaces.

DTS 4 Editor Users Guide
Thumbnail
The edit functions in the DTS Editor allow you to create and maintain new content in one or more local Ontylog Extension and Thesaurus namespaces. Each user-defined local namespace that you create can contain new concepts and/or terms that reside outside of any of your subscription namespaces.
In the local namespace you also can map relationships (i.e., create associations) between selected concepts or terms in your local content, and specific concepts or terms in subscription namespace content. For example, you can create a mapping between a single concept in an Ontylog subscription namespace, such as SNOMED CT, and a newly created concept in your local Chief Complaint namespace.

DTS 4 Internationalizing DTS
Thumbnail

The DTS Knowledgebase has always supported local language terminology data through its use of the UTF-8 format. But UTF-8 doesn’t address local language requirements in the user interface. The Version 4 DTS Editor has been extensively revised to facilitate internationalization (I18N) of the user interface. All prompts and messages are retrieved from a Java resource file and layouts have been coded to take advantage of Java internationalization features to support component orientations (left-to-right vs. right-to-left, and top-to-bottom vs. bottom-to-top).

This document has been designed to serve two purposes. First, to assist organizations wishing to internationalize the Editor for their local languages, and second, to help DTS Editor Module developers in internationalizing their own applications/modules.

DTS 4 Release Notes
Thumbnail

In this release of DTS, we’ve included updates to the DTS Editor application, the DTS FHIR Services, and supported Application Servers.

The DTS Editor has added functionality to the Subset Editor to accommodate subset enhancements. We’ve also added a feature to build subsets in batch, making subset maintenance easier.

The DTS FHIR service has been updated and expanded to maintain FHIR R4 compliance. A complete list of these changes can be found in the DTS Release Notes Document.

DTS 4.7.1 introduces a new Security Model that allows for easier role management, as well as a User Summary panel to easily view all user roles and permissions.

In addition, several known issues from previous releases have also been addressed.

DTS 4 User Manager Guide
Thumbnail

User (logon) access to DTS ("authentication") is controlled by the underlying Application Server, e.g. JBoss, authentication processes. Application Server administrator functions define a User (user account) by creating a username and access password, and associating Application Server roles with the account. DTS Users must be given the

apelondts (or apelondtsadmin, see below) roles to gain access to DTS. See the documentation supplied with your Application Server for details on User account creation.

DTS 4 Versioning Guide
Thumbnail
DTS Version 4 introduces comprehensive version management of both subscription and locally-defined terminologies and associated DTS Subsets. Version management, or simply versioning, provides an integrated view of a terminology’s evolution over time. DTS versioning supports searching and browsing of a terminology based on both specific dates and specific released, a.k.a. published, versions. Details of Concept, Term, and Attribute creation and retirement can be determined, and a full audit trail of "who did what to which Attribute" is maintained for locally-defined content. This Guide has been written to assist clinicians, informaticists, and developers understand the basic DTS versioning model and to utilize the DTS Browser, DTS Editor, and API to create, maintain, and deploy versioned terminologies.
